BBQ Salmon Recipe

BBQ Salmon Recipe, this is a basic recipe that tastes great. I prefer to use a plank for this recipe, but if you do not have one, you can use a piece of tinfoil. You will lose some of the nice smoky flavor, and the fish will cook a bit quicker, but the end result will still be mighty tasty.

Ingredients:
Large Salmon Fillet
2/3 Cup BBQ Sauce (I use Kinders Mild, but you can substitute your favorite)
1/2 tsp Worchester
1 TBSP Montreal Steak Seasoning
Fresh Rosemary Sprigs
Grilling Plank
Salt

Combine the BBQ sauce, Worchester and montreal steak seasoning in a bowl and mix. Marinate the Salmon in this sauce for between 1-4 hours. Do not marinate overnight.

Soak your plank for at least an hour, longer is better. Set your coals up to grill using the indirect method. Remove your plank from the water and rub it with a few teaspoons of salt. Put your plank on the BBQ to heat it. Typically I heat each side for about 2-3 minutes.

Place the salmon on the plank, toss a few fresh rosemary sprigs on top of the fish, and cover the BBQ. It should cook for 25-35 minutes.

Grilling Time for Chicken

Grilled chicken is certainly an all time favorite, but it is extremely important that you ensure the chicken is cooked completely, as undercooked chicken can be dangerous. When you don’t stick to or know the right grilling time for chicken, you run the risk of severe food poisoning. Having a grilling time for chicken chart can ensure that your chicken is cooked to completion, keeping it’s delicious moistness, while also being safe to eat.

A good suggestion when grilling chicken is to use a meat thermometer.  This will help make sure that your meat has the correct internal temperature and that it is safe to eat. One of the main issues that many people have when grilling chicken is that it is a food that tends to cook unevenly. In addition to following the correct grilling time for chicken guidelines, there are also a few tips that can help ensure a more even cooking as well.

Larger pieces of chicken are the main pieces of concern when talking about uneven cooking. This means that while one part of the chicken may become done, another part may need to cook more. This causes either parts that are charred or parts that are not cooked. This issue can be corrected by cutting up the larger pieces of chicken so that they will cook more evenly.

If you are going to be grilling a whole chicken you will want to butterfly the chicken so that it will cook more evenly. The butterflying process involves taking out the backbone from the chicken so that it can be laid flat on the grill. This will provide much better results, and will also help the chicken to cook evenly.

The proper grilling time for chicken will depend upon what you are grilling. For example, if you are grilling a skinless/boneless chicken breast, then the grilling time for chicken would be twenty-five minutes. A bone-in chicken breast will need to be cooked for about fifteen minutes longer, although I like to slow cook them with indirect heat for about an hour.

On the other hand, if you are grilling a whole chicken then your grilling time would be about an hour and a half. The correct grilling time for chicken when cooking drumsticks or thighs is about forty minutes.

Again, by using a meat thermometer, you can always ensure that you have the correct grilling time for chicken.  Undercooked chicken is no one’s friend!

Critical basics of charcoal grilling include ensure that you never use anything but lighter fluid. Never use anything like kerosene or gasoline as this can cause an explosion and result in serious injury.

You should not serve meat that is done below the minimum temperature guidelines for what you are cooking. This can facilitate a trip to the hosptial.

Keep in mind that an outdoor grill should only be used outside. You should never use an outdoor BBQ inside or any place where there is not proper ventilation. This has and can lead to death.
